The Culture House delivers and manages a high quality programme of seasonal outdoor arts in Grimsby town centre, in partnership with a range of regional stakeholders.
In 2013, The Culture House initiated a partnership with a range of regional stakeholders which resulted in the development and production of an annual outdoor arts programme alongside Grimsby’s Christmas light switch on event. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England, the cultural programme has included family lantern parades, indoor and outdoor live music performances and leading UK street acts hosted around Grimsby town centre. This activity supports the widening of public access to arts and culture in an area of low engagement with approximately 30,000 people attending annually.
The activity is delivered in partnership with regional brand, Disover NEL (North East Lincolnshire), North East Lincolnshire Council and Freshney Place Shopping Centre with the additional aims of increasing visitors to the town centre and boosting the local economy.
