Festival

Of The Sea

In partnership with Walk The Plank and supported by Grimsby Creates, we lovingly developed and launched Festival of the Sea - a new outdoor arts festival and programme highlighting Grimsby’s connection to the sea.

Making this happen in year one straight out of the pandemic was a tough call but we did it, bringing national performers to Grimsby while showcasing a breadth of local talent.

A highlight was partnering with Walk the Plank and the creators of The Rubbish World of Dave Spud, Illuminated Films & Children’s ITV, to work with local students from Clee Academy to write and produce a bespoke animation called ‘Where Do All The Boats Go’ (exploring where the vessels on the Humber are going, from the ports of Grimsby and Immingham). The animation now has more than 90,000 views.

“The event was a benefit to the town - a great showcase. Working across the event made me feel very proud - great to see what Grimsby can do and do well!”

“It was really nice to have the opportunity to perform in Grimsby, work with your dedicated team, lovely volunteers and to engage with local audiences.”
